First week of dieting complete. It was a very good week with some good progress being made. My aim was to loose 1kh in my first week, however I actually doubled that number and lost 2kg. I am not too concerned about this as the first week of dieting always brings quite a big drop in weight due to water / bloat levels dropping and also my glycogen stores depleting.
My weight loss from now on must be about 0.3 kg a week. I am going to keep my calories at the same level and see how I respond this week, if I lose more than 0.5kg I will be adding in about 30g of fat increasing calories by 270 a day.
I had a very big cheat meal on Saturday evening which consisted of a Chinese takeaway and a whole tub of ben and jerries ice cream. I will allow myself one meal a week like this for the next few months. I can get away with this at this stage as fat loss is happening very easily. This actually has some benefits also. Having a very high calorie meal like this helps replenish glycogen stores which will improve my workout intensity and strength levels, also it stimulates my metabolism and keeps it up to speed. The psychological benefits are worth it also, after counting and weighing every meal I have for the whole week, it is so good to just order whatever the hell I want and eat as much as I want without thinking about how many calories etc.
The first week was actually very straightforward and easy. Of course at times I felt hungry but it was absolutely very manageable. On Friday evening I was out playing pool and was feeling pretty dam lethargic and weak. Manageable but was starting to feel the struggle. Just hunger constantly being on my mind but I was out and still able to enjoy myself 100% so I am happy with it. The fact that this week was very easy and I lost double my intended weight makes me feel pretty optimistic about the whole diet. My metabolism is obviously extremely fast and this makes the fat loss process a lot easier.
Training has been going well and strength is going up. I haven’t done any of my cardio workouts yet and have just been weight training 5 x week. Who needs cardio for fat loss eh? Eating over 3000 calories a day, doing no cardio, and loosing 2kg in a week. That is how it should be done! Stimulate the muscles, keep the metabolism working hard with a good diet and watch the fat melt!

Measurements are good. Chest is actually up 0.2 inches, waist is down 0.25 inches and everything else is the same. Perfect.
